Good to know

What people ask before booking a shoot.

What's the difference between a standard drone and FPV?

A standard cinematic drone flies smooth, stable, wide shots — establishing your building, following a car down a road, rising over a site. FPV is a custom-built racing airframe flown first-person. It goes where a normal drone can't: through an open doorway, down a stairwell, between two cars, along a bike at speed, in one unbroken take. If you've seen a property or car video that feels like one continuous flight through the whole space, that's FPV.

Can you shoot and edit, or do I need to hire both?

Both, and that's the point of hiring me rather than a company. The person on the call is the person holding the camera, flying the drone and sitting in the edit. Nothing gets lost in a handover, and there's no producer's margin on top. If you only need one half — footage you'll cut yourself, or an edit of material you already have — that's fine too.

Do you write the concept, or do I bring one?

Either. If you have a script or a reference reel, I'll shoot to it. If you have an objective and no idea what it should look like, I'll write a short treatment first — what we shoot, in what order, and what the finished thing does — and you approve it before anything is booked.

What do I actually get delivered?

A graded master in the format you need, plus cutdowns for each platform — 16:9, 1:1 and 9:16 built for the platform rather than cropped from one file. Vertical versions get captions burned in. You also get the graded stills pulled from the footage, which most people forget to ask for and then use everywhere.

What do you shoot on?

Cinema camera and lighting for ground work, a DJI Mavic 4 Pro for standard aerials, and custom FPV builds capable of 160km/h for flythroughs. All equipment, insurance and licensing is included in the rate — there's no separate kit hire line on your invoice.

Do you work with agencies as a hired operator?

Yes. If you're an agency or another production company that needs a licensed drone or FPV operator for a day, that's a straightforward booking — I turn up with the kit and the paperwork and hand over the footage. Same rates.

How far ahead do I need to book?

A week or two is comfortable. Shorter is often possible — ask. Aerial work needs a weather window, so booking further out gives us room to move the date without losing the deadline.
